Irene Ryan... A Memory

I was rummaging through a scrapbook of miscellaneous clippings I have saved over the years. I came across an obit from the New York Times of May 6, 1973. Irene Ryan, who played Granny on the hit TV show, The Beverly Hillbillies, created the memorable character of the grandmother in the hit Broadway show, Pippin. When she passed away in 1973, Bob Fosse, the noted choregrapher, wrote this loving homage to this wonderful actress. I wanted to share this obit with you. Hope you enjoy it.

Kindest regards,

Howard Fireman.

It Went to the His State of Mind...

A Fictional Moment...

I had been interviewing about a dozen or so men and women to handle some subcontracted accounting work for my company. My company is a small company, so I only needed someone on a part-time basis. One particular applicant stuck in my mind because looking at him, I had the distinct sense that he really needed the work. It was after he gave me his business card and I looked at it that I knew that I was absolutely right in my assessment.
